(sold) |  Louisbourg by NightThis is the third painting in a series of four Nova Scotia lighthouses. The original Louisbourg lighthouse was the first in Canada, built in 1734 to assist navigation to the Fortress of Louisbourg. Badly damaged and abandoned in 1758, a wooden one was built in 1842 and was later destroyed by fire. (Sold) |  Sutherlands Steam MillLocated in Denmark, near Tatamagouche, the mill was able to make anything to build and beautify your home! In the 1890’s steam power was the way of the future and Alexander Sutherland took this innovation and built his steam mill right next to the railroad. Today the mill is a museum.
